The War of Terror

oops…I mean, of course, the War on Terror. Silly me, to think that a war waged against terror could be terror itself. This politically incorrect man seems to think so, here at LewRockwell.com. Enough with the sarcasm. The article I linked to above goes very well with my book which will be coming out early next year. It was going to be a short story anthology and now I’m not quite sure. I’m beginning to hope that it might actually turn out to be a novel. Novels are so much more impressive, don’t you know? I can call myself an…

“What If?”

This is one of my favorite videos ever. I hope we never forget the truths that Ron Paul points out. It is a matter of life and death. Perhaps not for us, but for other innocent human beings.

Resisting Stereotypes

My facebook status last night read: “Savannah Liston had the distinct pleasure of agreeing with a Democrat on one issue tonight: the anti-life implications of wars fought over oil fields…” This Democratic candidate attending a Tea Party event last night. My impression of her? She was not sure of herself. Someone once said about Ron Paul, “he is a good man, he is at peace with himself and with God.” I could not say the same for this candidate. I don’t think she was truly convinced of what she believes and so she is overly aggressive in defending herself. She…

Thoughts on the “Pledge to America”

I was going to write a whole long blog post ranting about the “Pledge to America.” I decided not to bother. I wrote it, but didn’t publish it. I write things just to feel better, it doesn’t really matter if other people read it or not. But I thought I would take this opportunity to instead point you to some very good articles: The Bush Betrayal And  The Reagan “Revolution” The point of me posting these articles is that I hope they serve as a reminder to all of us. Deep down inside we want to be hopeful. We want…

Our “Inheritance”

Recently a commenter asked this question, “Why have we inherited such a militant approach to the difference in language, culture and identity do you think?” He then said that he could answer this in a thousand words, but didn’t want to bore me. This question, however, intrigued me. It was a different approach to a subject I’ve long considered. Since this is my site, and since I’m supposed to write thousands of words, I thought I might spend a few minutes exploring this issue. To reword the question, why do we have such intolerance towards different cultures, languages and identities?…

From the Next Generation…and I don’t mean the Star Trek series

Today is the anniversary of 9-11. On Facebook and all around I hear various responses to this. I suppose it is because I have a well-rounded group of “friends” (I used friends in a loose sense to mean people I “know” merely through social networking). One post said something like “we must keep the memories of the younger generations sharp.” Well, I guess that must be me, as someone who was about 9 when 9-11 happened, I do remember it. I remember it as well as I want to. In fact, I remember it too well. I remember my hatred…

“God Bless Our Troops”

I seem to have a problem with this phrase. Some will argue that it is because the troops are risking their lives. I can agree with that. I can admire their courage in doing so. But according to several articles I’ve looked at, fishermen, loggers, and pilots have the most dangerous job. Here, read it yourself. So, theoretically, we ought to have little stickers on our cars saying, “God Bless Our Fishermen,” and “God Bless Our Loggers.” Yeah, it doesn’t have the same sort of feeling as “God Bless Our Troops.” But from a purely economic perspective loggers, fishermen and…

Why We Must Be Fair to Both Political Parties

Walter Williams has a good article on LewRockwell.com about senior citizens and handouts. While senior citizens are fed up with the current system, see Obama as a Marxist, socialist, narcissist, and every other evil thing, don’t like government spending and so forth, they can’t seem to give up their handouts. I can sympathize, I understand how they must feel, but that doesn’t stop me from advocating the end of Social Security and the like. I am the future, and I will be paying the price for Social Security…while enjoying none of the benefits. Are senior citizens in America so present-oriented…
