One World Currency…Here We Come!
At the conclusion of Rothbard’s book, “What Has the Government Done To Our Money?” he discusses the future of money in the post-Bretton Woods economy. He says that the only way to reach stability is to return to the classical gold standard of the 1800’s. Sadly, however, no one is interested in that, but rather, a world currency is the more “viable” option. Here’s a recent article about that.

The New American reports here on this troubling trend. Many students admit they are studying much less than in previous years. Why? Because grades are no longer a standard of academic achivement but as an economic boost for students suffering in this tough economy, as the New York Times says. Read more here.

I’ve been reading this book by Rothbard (in preparation for Mises University later this month) and like all the books I’ve read by Rothbard so far, it is fantastic. Superb…stunning, these might be more appropriate words. It is taking me a long time to read it because I want to write down everything Rothbard says in my notes. Some of my thoughts on the World News tonight on MSNBC: David Petraeus replaced Stan McChrystal today, less than 48 hours after McChrystal criticized the President. What to say? Neat work for the president. He “nipped it in the bud.” Nice. If someone was telling me I was wrong, I’d nip it in the bud too. I can’t say it shows the President has good leadership qualities, it seems that most anyone would have done that. Perhaps it was to revive the sagging war enthusiasm in here in the States. It hasn’t made me feel any better though. Housing numbers were…
