So this week’s band is Imagine Dragons! And although some of their songs have a dark tone, this one is very bright : )
For those of you who aren’t in the loop with this…the heartbleed virus was discovered earlier this week and is a vulnerability in the SSL (super secure login) code used by some websites to encrypt/protect data as it travels through the web. I ran across this great resource for understanding the impact of this virus. Early on it was recommended to not change passwords until sites had confirmed they patched the code, so there’s been some confusion about how to respond to the whole situation. This winter I’ve experimented with making a bow tie necklace. This was partially because I was bored (or needed a break from studying) and partially because I wanted some way to make a subtle and cute Doctor Who reference. For the end of CC this year, I decided to make a crocheted bow tie for each of the girls in my class since they had admired the one I invariably wore every week. So while crocheting these bow ties, I thought I’d take pictures and share a tutorial on how to make them yourself!

After my previous posts about the Transform Rockford movement, I’ve been asked about the organization’s process to create consensus during their visioning sessions. I’ve recently become really, really interested in slam poetry. I’m still trying to figure out how to write my own for the poetry challenge my friend is doing on Tumblr, but in the meantime, here’s one slam poem I absolutely love.
