Still Alive…Just Barely

Sorry folks, to keep you waiting this long for another blog post. This has been a rough week for me. First, I had to get my driving permit which meant I had to go down to the Secretary of State office and grovel at the feet of the state and…ugh, I won’t start ranting now. Then I started coming down with a cold. Not fun. Then a couple other things developed which really messed up my plans for this summer, and well, for my life in general. šŸ™‚ I’m still getting over that, but haven’t even started recovering from my…

The Days Slowly Ebb Away…

Firstly, the trackpad on my Mac stopped working this week. While this was really annoying and frustrating, it thankfully was not so much of a crisis since I have an external mouse which is doing a decent job right now. I miss theĀ convenienceĀ of having a trackpad right there under the keyboard and I miss all the great finger swipes and shortcuts I was used to. Computer work is a bit more laborious, I feel like I’m almost using a PC again and not a Mac. And if you were at my Tuesday webinar, I think the problem was that my…

Incongruity

Incongruity In spring they make small splashes through the slush and hopeful puddles. In summer they slip softly over warm grass and rejoicing earth. In autumn they bump through skeletons of summer leaves and frenzied wind. In winter they leave rounded swirls in pure snow and frozen dirt. Garbage cans. – Savannah Liston

Hello, 2011!

I stayed up till midnight on New Years Eve, did you? First we watched a rather silly movie, “TheĀ PhiladelphiaĀ Story” with Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart. We weren’t impressed much with it. The story goes that there’s this girl (Katherine Hepburn) who has very high standards. This is one reason why she left her first husband because (she claims) he drank far too much and she never drank at all. The night before she gets married she gets drunk and goes swimming with Jimmy Stewart (who is not her soon-to-be-husband) and then expects her fiancee to “accept” her as…

I’m Still Alive

Yes, I’m still here, in case you were wondering. I have such good intentions every week to blog at least once a day and then I start missing days and all of a sudden it is the end of the week and I’ve written only one post. How does that happen? I’ve been busy this week working on some new projects. I’ll be rolling out a website for my book very soon. I’m getting really, really excited about the book. This is something I’ve dreamed of for years, and I’ve been working on this story for at least 2 years,…

I’m Back!

You know the feeling, when your parents were gone, you were at home having a great time and then the front door opens and a voice calls, “I’m back!”Ā I hope that’s not how you feel. I hope you are more excited about me coming back to my blog. If you are tired of a blogger blogging on their own blog, well, then don’t read their blog. Did you have a good Christmas? We did. It was the year of warm things for me, a blanket, new coat, slippers, etc…but it was rather ironic because on Christmas Eve when we were…

A Most Unfortunate Catastrophe

My parents have a very large walk-in closet in their room, which they’ve intended to convert into a bathroom for the last 5 to 10 years. They are just getting around to it now. So yesterday my dad and the girls were working on it. Someone (who will remain unnamed) put a dirty paintbrush in the sink (this is in the other upstairs bathroom that we’ve always had), closed the drain, and turned the water on…intending to come back in about 30 seconds to turn it off. And of course, if the person got distracted, there’s always that safety drain…

A New Look…Again

It seems that girls have a reputation for always buying new shoes, dresses, etc…well, it is much easier (and cheaper!) for me to instead change my website theme every few days. So just think of this as a phase, hopefully I’ll grow out of theĀ irresistibleĀ desire to install a new theme regularly. Why did I change, again? – I had very good intentions to write more for my site. But I really am too busy to write enough to use a magazine-style theme. – There were some problems with my former theme that I didn’t discover until a week or two…

Monday Morning

“Monday morning is the time you must do everything you didn’t want to do the week before.” ~ Anonymous Actually, that’s my quote. It looks better if I say it is anonymous. I still have some unpacking to do from my trip. It is mostly just running around the house, putting little things back where they belong, but I don’t really feel like that. So in the meantime I’m tripping over bags and shoes whenever I try to exit or enter my room. I’ve got 18 items on my to-do list for this week. Granted, some of them are easy,…

Home Again!

After a two-week hiatus I’m back home. This means 1) I will have consistent internet access, 2) I will not be spending my days at the beach, therefore: I will be posting again next week and will be posting original content instead of just links and boring stuff like that. So don’t give up on me. I have lots of plans, lots of ideas, lots of books, and a long to-do list. Check back on Monday for details.
