Classical Conversations New Grammar Lesson Ideas

This past fall I began tutoring a Foundations class for Classical Conversations. This national homeschool co-op is based on the classical method of education, so the classes are divided by the trivium paradigm. Ages 4-12 are in the Foundations class, the grammar stage. Then they move to Essentials, the dialectic stage, and then Challenge, the rhetoric stage. I tutor a Masters class, the oldest age group in Foundations. I took a brief hiatus over the weekend as I was trying to get over a rather nasty cold. I figured that either during or after Lakeshore I was bound to get sick, and sure enough, it happened. Home Again

So my vacation is over and I’m trying to get back into real life. Although some in our group (mainly my little sisters) seemed quite upset that vacations don’t last forever, I was pretty happy by the end of it to just be home again and actually be productive. I’ll be starting on Bleak House this week (yay!), trying to fix my passport photo which Walgreens messed up, maybe getting to The Epic of Gilgamesh, and a few other random projects. Not Here…

I had hoped to write something this week, but that isn’t going to happen. I’m leaving on vacation this weekend and will be gone for the next week, so I’ve ended up spending a lot more time at work trying to get ahead with my tasks, and then of course packing and preparing for my trip. I know some crazy people who actually pack only hours or minutes prior to leaving, but I simply can’t fathom this. Yes, I’m Alive

Sorry folks, I’ve been rather non-existent the last few days/weeks. I was asked to work overtime, so I was working all day almost every day. Obviously that didn’t leave much time to do fun things like blogging. 🙂 But now I’m back to normal hour, starting Monday, so I’m looking forward to having time for blogging, studying, teaching, and stuff like that.
