Book Review: The Moon is a Harsh Mistress

This is the starting point for The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. From a literary standpoint, this book is not highly polished. The writing is a little uneven and the plot is not well-paced. While Part I grabs the reader’s attention with its character development and dynamics, Part II falls flat with its lack of dialogue and action. Part III, the conclusion to the entire book, feels hurried and a little clumsy. I’ve had a lot of projects going on the past few months, so I haven’t had the time to write new posts. This weekend I am going to Indianapolis to the MPCA/ACA (Midwest Popular Culture Association/Midwest American Culture Association) to present a paper on the influence of Socrates and Kierkegaard in the Firefly character, Shepherd Book. When Mike Schablaske, the executive director at Transform Rockford, saw my recent posts through Twitter, he put me in touch with the group which had written the Shared Value statements. Last night was the much-anticipated Transform Rockford Vision Rally, held at the Coronado PAC. From the reports I saw online, the event drew over 1,400 attendees.  To recap what has been going on, Transform  Rockford has a 6 step process for changing the greater Rockford area.
