I had a fantastic weekend and am now getting back into the swing of things. So to report on my holiday… The drive to St. Louis went smoothly, despite heavy fog, high winds, and occasional torrential rain. It was a bit nerve-wracking, but overall I enjoyed the challenge. A Holiday!
As you may have noticed, my posts have been quite sparse recently. This was mostly due to me studying for my chemistry midterm and trying to stay ahead with all my classes. I finished the midterm exam and essay today, so I’m making progress! And now I’m off to St. Louis in the morning to see The Avett Brothers in concert! After the concert I’ll be hanging out with friends in Chicago for the weekend. So…I’ve decided it will be a good long weekend holiday for me. I’ve persuaded myself to not plan on studying or working at all while I’m away….
One of Those Days
I spent most of last week getting work done on my car in preparation to go out of town this weekend for a concert. Then yesterday I hit a piece of loose pavement in the road, which took out one of my new tires and probably caused some other damage I’m not aware of yet. How Do You Know?
I’ve been taking this online class, Intro to Philosophy, which is quite fascinating! The first week dealt with the obvious question, “what is philosophy?” and then the second week was on epistemology. Or, the question, “how do we know what we know?” Epistemology is the branch of philosophy that deals with the question of knowledge. The lesson was quite basic and didn’t get into a lot of areas that I would have loved to hear about, but the lectures did confront the question of radical skepticism.
