Bring Them Home!

I’m sometimes accused of being “anti-military,” as if that’s as bad as being “anti-life.” But I wish to clarify my position on this. I’m not against the military, if by military you mean the individuals who are out there risking their lives. If that’s what you mean, then I’m all for them. I get a little misty-eyed when I see a reunion of a soldier and his family. I do care deeply about those soldiers. In fact, I care for them so much that it pains me to think of these people giving up these years of their life, precious…

Update on Online Class

I’m sorry folks, if you missed the deadline for the discounted registration. Your only chance now is to get more than 5 people to sign up with you, and you can get the group rate of $35 per person. But I’ve been thinking about some other things too. In case you’re afraid that this class is going to be a little boring (or maybe slightly fun) but just not practical and relevant to your life, I have a solution. During the last couple weeks of the course, we will spend our live lecture time discussing current problems. After getting such…

Where Have I Been?

I must apologize for the lack of posts in the last couple days. Came down with some sort of cold on Thursday that knocked me out for all of Friday. Just starting to feel better now. You should feel very good that while yet so tired and weak I’m trying to write a blog post. What dedication and devotion to my readers! It was so frustrating to lay (or lie?) in bed, thinking of the 1,000 things I want to do, and not being able to do any of it. I did listen to several lectures from Mises.org, so that…

Tom Woods at ISU

You’ll have to forgive me today if I do anything really stupid. I’m a little low on sleep. We got back from Illinois State University at about 1am today. And thanks to my dear siblings I was awake by about 7am. But it was totally worth it. Warning: I can’t help but do a little bragging in this post. So if that bothers  you, don’t read it. And frankly, I will understand if you don’t read it. If I weren’t me, I probably wouldn’t read it either. Which makes you wonder why I’m going to do it, if no one…

The Blight of Beck

Have I ever mentioned how much I can’t stand Glenn Beck? He makes me sick. And very mad. Anyways, here’s an article from LewRockwell.com on how Fox News (and Glenn Beck primarily) have totally distorted the Progressive era and agenda.

Did Capitalism Cause the Recession?

After hearing Tom Woods speak last night I was inspired to dig up this youtube video again. It was really cool that Tom Woods talked about much of the same things as I do in this speech. I guess that’s not surprising since I got a lot of my information from “Meltdown.” But in this video I go into more depth and look at more of the causes than Tom Woods did last night. No, it isn’t quite as funny (or near as funny, except maybe the slide about the animal spirits…) but if you need a crash course in…

Airports Can (and Should) Opt Out of TSA Screening

Just got this link from a friend, apparently there’s a U.S. Representative urging airports to ditch the TSA and use their own private security. Wouldn’t that be great? I think enough people are starting to get upset over this, there may be hope yet. Especially if we vote with our dollars and refuse to patronize these airports that allow the TSA to screen and search their passengers. That will send a very loud and very clear message to the world. And if we are silent? Well, if we submit to the TSA, I’m afraid that America will submit to anything….

Thank You, Bush…for the TSA

I guess the title of this post gives it all away. There’s been much commotion these days over the TSA. Haven’t you noticed? It is here, and here, if that’s not enough, then here, here and here. As many are saying, it is just out of control. There is no way that anyone will convince me to fly while there are still these scanners, still these pat-downs, still the horrible TSA. I’d rather miss Mises U or seeing Ron Paul than go through that. And I hope the conservatives are happy now. I hope the Republicans are satisfied. This is the…

Leave or Detox: Only ways millions will survive the Gulf Oil Spill

Interesting article about how bad the conditions are…according to this piece millions of people are being poisoned by the seafood they eat and the air they breath. The doctor featured in the piece notes that the US government used “Corexit”…which has been banned in other countries because of the serious damage it causes to the brain, not to mention the rest of the body. If all of this is true, then this oil spill is one of the greatest attacks on humanity that the government has ever instigated. http://www.examiner.com/human-rights-in-national/gulf-hero-dr-soto-detox-or-move-only-ways-millions-will-survive

TSA Chief Defends Airport Screening Procedures

From the article, when asked if the TSA would allow people to opt out of both due to religious beliefs the TSA administrator replied, “While I respect and we respect that person’s beliefs, that person’s not going to get on an airplane.” Nice. There’s no way to get out of it. And it makes me so angry to hear people like Joe Lieberman, “”I understand the privacy sensitivities,” said Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT). “Of course it’s awkward, it’s unusual. “On the other hand, the overwhelming majority of us, we get on those planes and we want to have the confidence…
